OPG Miroslav Antolčić

We are beekeepers with close to 400 beehives. In addition to Miroslav and Ines and with the help of his parents Marica and Stjepan, another person is permanently employed. Most beehives are dedicated to honey production and the rest to the production of other bee products: propolis, honey in the honeycomb, pollen, parchment (fermented pollen, or “bee bread”), royal jelly, beeswax and breeding of selected nuts. We produce seven types of honey: acacia, floral, chestnut, meadow, mint, amorphous and jellyfish. Since the end of 2018 we have also been awarded the Honey of Croatian apiaries. For each of them during the year we migrate bees to honeybee areas. Acacia thus originates from forests in the vicinity of Vrbovec, for the production of chestnut honey, bees collect nectar in chestnut forests near Petrinja, the meadows of Lonjsko Polje are credited with mint and amorphine honey, while the mead, meadow and flower honey originates from meadow forests throughout Turopol. A special place is occupied by a line of honey-based products, ie honey with additives. Honey with chocolate, honey spread with hazelnuts, honey with cinnamon and orange peel, honey with orange, honey with lemon, honey with nuts and nuts and ice honey.

This year we also put into operation the api inhaler house for inhalation with air from the hive at the apiary in the village of Kuče. It contains four professional api inhalers built into the AŽ hives. Api inhalation is the inhalation of air from a hive that is enriched with micro particles of bee products – honey, propolis, fermented pollen, royal jelly, bee venom and beeswax. There are currently only a couple of api inhalation boxes in the Republic of Croatia; and in our area, in Zagreb County, this is the first.
Lastly, it is important to note that honey, pollen, propolis, beeswax and royal jelly, which we sell, are produced by ourselves on our apiaries, thus guaranteeing the quality of all products. There is a possibility that we may sell some products during the year and we do not have them for a while. However, what matters most is quality, not quantity. The guiding principle in our family beekeeping is the PRINCIPLE OF EXCELLENCE.
We sell all our products exclusively on the doorstep. As part of the family home at Seljine brigade 20, Velika Gorica, we have a space that has been converted into a shop – left shop, blue bell OPG Miroslav Antolčić. We also sell our products at trade shows and through the web store www.antolcic-med.com.

The fairs we traditionally participate in are:

Gastronomy in Velika Gorica, Honey Days in Zagreb, Food Days and
traditional products, Zagreb County Days.

Each year we participate in the County Honey Assessment and International
evaluation of honey in Osijek, where we achieve enviable results. Our meds win gold awards a couple of times
we also won the championship (2008 for mint honey and 2011 and 2014 for chestnut honey)

We are an active member of the Turopolje Beekeeping Association, the Croatian Apitherapy Society
and the Association of Selected Nut Growers.

Every year, fellow beekeepers from various beekeeping associations visit our apiary in Kuče
where we present to them how we grow beekeepers with an emphasis on producing royal jelly and breeding selected ones
nut. On our apiary there is also a field training for the participants of the Apitherapy course he organizes
Croatian Apitherapy Society and Veterinary Beekeepers. We are also organized by the students of Agronomy and
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zagreb.
