MINAS ZRNO 1 is a family-run craft and has been in business since 1992. We started producing coffee in our roastery, which is still open today. Since 2004, we have been growing hazelnuts in an area of 7.5 ha. In 2012, with the help of the IPARD program, we built a facility for processing-finishing hazelnuts and equipped it with professional machines and tools, with a larger capacity.
We also provide hazelnut processing services, from other growers, such as drying, purification, calibration, crunching, separation of the shell from the core, screening, frying, grinding, packing hazelnuts. We have a certified hazelnut nursery from which in the autumn-spring period we deliver seedlings of Istrian oblong and round varieties such as Roman, Hal, tonda della langa, giffon with advice on planting, growing, protecting and pruning hazelnuts.
In primary production, we follow trends, technological and technical achievements in fruit production and digitalization, and we introduce them into our production. We strive to use ecological means to protect hazelnuts as well as organic fertilizers.
We encourage people to plant hazelnuts because it is a profitable crop that thrives well in our area and can be sold. Our goal is to connect fruit growers with the domestic processing industry, locally or more widely through associations or cooperatives.
